Yuen Chee Ling, A recipient of the “University Scholar” award in1983 and graduated with Bachelor of Fine Art Degree and Master of Fine Arts Degree (1986). She is currently pursuing her PHD. degree at universiti Sains. She had held 14 successful solo exhibitions in Malaysia, Bangkok, Manila, Taipeh and Abu Dhabi. 

Since 1991, she had developed a figurative style of her own to reflect the unique characteristics and spiritual essence of the Pan-Asian women. Her recent Nyonya series is a reminiscence of the old Penang. The day-to day life of the ‘Nyonyas’ (womenfolk of the Straits Chinese Baba) in relation to own her childhood experiences.

Founder of the International Women Artists Associations Council (INWAC) and international network of women artists groups to promote women’s art through the “Her Presence In Colours” - International Women Artists Exhibition Series. To date, “Her Presence In Colours series I-VI were held at Beijing, Penang, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Sheffield (UK) and Melbourne.

Yuen Chee Ling has a record of 6 publications to her credit. Her paintings and biography were listed in the publications including “Achievements of World Chinese Artists”,” 20th Century Women Artists” (1996). Her paintings were selected to grace the cover of magazines including Reader’s Digest (Back cover), the Expats (2000) and Cosmic (2003). No less than 70s Writeups about Yuen Chee Ling published in local and international newspaper, magazines and art catalogues including The Star, News Strait Times, Wings of Gold, Art Corridor, The Edge, Her World, Female, Malaysia Tatler, Artists and many others. TV interviews include Beijing TV, City focus, Canadian TV, Australia TV, Japan TV Hong Kong TV.

Museum and public collections of her works include Esso Art collection, Universiti Sains Malaysia Museum, Bangkok Metropolitan Bank, Graduate Studies, University of the Philippines, Escoy Smelting Sdn. Bhd., Pilam Life Pavillion. Metro Manila, Philippines, Crontline Institute, Denmark, Pacific Bank, Kuala Lumpur, Bank Negara Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, Philip Morris, United Kingdom, Cultural Foundation Center, Abu Dhabi, U.A.E, National Art Gallery.
